Inverness Tang Soo Do Students selected to represent Great Britain in the World Championships in August 2011
Congratulations to Master Kelly O'Connor and Master Leigh O'Connor for having themselves and three of their students selected to represent Great Britain at the forthcoming World Tang Soo Do Championships being held in Orlando, Florida in August. Inverness students; Ciaran Docherty, Jamie Anderson and Rowen Anderson were selected by the Great Britain Chief Coach, Master Anesh Kumar.
Ciaran Docherty, aged 14 from Smithton, is currently a 2nd Dan Black Belt in Tang Soo Do, he is a high-achiever who is very dedicated to martial arts and has already claimed many prestigious awards both nationally and internationally; including Scottish Grand Champion, British Grand Champion and German Open Grand Champion in 2010. He hopes to secure a World Title in August and is training hard towards this goal.
Jamie Anderson, aged 15 from Culloden Moor, is currently a 1st Dan Black Belt in Tang Soo Do, his recent success at the Scottish and British Championships secured his place on the Great Britain Team.
Rowen Anderson, aged 9 also from Culloden Moor, is currently a 5th Gup Green Tag in Tang Soo Do. Although very young in his years, Rowen is a consistent medal winner and has already secured first places in Scottish, British and European Championships.
All three students are in full-time education and are actively fundraising to help with the costs of competing as part of the Great Britain Team. If any individual or business would like to donate sponsorship to the Inverness TSD group, or to the individuals please contact Master Instructor Kelly O'Connor on 01667 462752.
